Control's April issue is now online and ready for viewing.

In Control's April issue we explore how mobile technology is untethering both workers and data from fixed screens and control rooms, how new flowmeters helped a Colorado water district get better usage accuracy and save a precious resource at the same time, the safety/security cobo, control mode switching and adventures in STEM for potential engineers.

How do you get your basic training, and your refreshers? Do you go to ISA section meetings? Do you read books? Does your employer offer training courses? Do you wander around the InterWebs looking for necessary information? YouTube and Google it? Or do you just wing it and learn what you need to know as you need to do it, and hope your ignorance doesn't cause too much damage meanwhile?

The steamroller toward integrated device standards is rolling on. The latest to climb on the back of the steamroller is Honeywell. The goal is full device interoperability regardless of vendor. Let's hear it for everybody on the team.

Beginning with the October issue, we will be adding a third user generated content feature to accompany Feedback and Ask the Experts in Control magazine.

Called "Voices from the Project" it will be selections from the posts at the Process Automation Usability Project...we're gaining some excellent posters, and the project has traction.

I'm very pleased to continue the trend of incorporating user-generated content that we've been doing for several years now.

The process automation community has begun to define a new standard in usability for the next generation of process automation technology. Ranging from Planning to Security to Maintenance, highlights of this week's ongoing discussions are summarized below.
