MAX Control Systems (DCS portion Of Leeds & Northrup) was originally bought by ICS [1],
then later sold to Neles Automation which in turn became Metso
Automation. The original MAX 1 Control System after significant
enhancements became MAX 1000 while at L&N. After further evolution
while at Metso it was named maxDNA, continuing its popularity in the
power generation arena (though not exclusively there). A sister product
line that grew out of Valmet (later Neles, later Metso) became metsoDNA
popular in the paper industry as well as others.
