Yokogawa made clear in the first user group meeting held in North America since 2009, that they are not just an instrumentation and controls company, but rather a full service automation partner on a global scale.

We have been told by an extremely reliable source that Yokogawa has joined the HART Communications Foundation board of directors. Takahashi Kimi will be the board member for Yokogawa. 

In the past, Yokogawa had been kept off the HCF board because there was no open slot, but recently the bylaws were changed to provide for up to 7 members. Yokogawa makes the sixth. Only a four member majority will be necessary to adopt measures brought before the board.

TechAmerica Foundation's latest report shows that the U.S. high-tech industry has added nearly 100,000 jobs between January and June of 2012. This represents a 1.7% gain. The report takes in account four sectors within the high-tech industry and it found there was job growth in three of the four sectors. The sectors are: tech manufacturing, communications services, software services, and engineering and tech services.
